Before the Lakeside Polo Club
The seeds of the Lakeside Polo Club are both local and global.
It really starts with Irene who picked up polo in the twenties
while living on Coronado Island (part of San Diego). The picture below
(pardon the size) is a 1932 photo of Irene (white shirt, second from the left)
and a bunch of her friends (Jane Hunter, in black at the picture's center)
from college. While Irene has retired her polo mallet she still frequents
the games and makes sure we keep it clean and fun.
